Share El Comejen de la Bandola For the last four days, from Friday October 7th to the 10th, Venezuelan folklore group “El Comejen de la Bandola” (The Termite of the Bandola), has been in Roseau, undertaking various cultural – educational activities as part of the cooperation exchange between Venezuela and Dominica, thanks to the support received from the Ministry of People Power for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Peoples Power for Culture of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Fort Young Hotel and DBS Radio.This group made by Segundo Garcia, known as “El Comejen de la Bandola” (The Termite of the Bandola), vocalist and Venezuelantraditional dance expert Yusnellys Rengifo, Jose Funes in the Cuatro, Professor Gailabi Jimenez in the base guitar and Alejandro Galindo in the maracas.The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Dominica in a joint effort with the Fort Young Hotel organized a special event on Friday night during the Happy Hour, where the guests also had the opportunity to enjoy Venezuelan dishes by Venezuelan Chef Alonso Nuñez.Participants in the workshopAll day Saturday they hosted Cuatro and dance workshops at the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation which continued on Monday.
